Women’s imaging services include digital and 3D mammography (tomosynthesis), breast ultrasound and bone density evaluation for osteoporosis. The testing is located adjacent to the waiting area.

Our surgery care team is focused on your specific health needs. As a community-based hospital system, Pella Regional’s goal is comfortable, compassionate care close to home but with amenities and services found in larger systems.
General Surgeon J.D. Welander, MD collaborates with Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon Timothy Schurman, MD to perform breast cancer surgery and breast reconstruction under one anesthesia at Pella Regional Health Center, allowing women to stay close to home and the support of family and friends when in need of breast care services.

Physical, Occupational and Lymphedema Therapy
After breast surgery therapy may be recommended to help you regain strength and help with lymphedema symptoms. Pella Regional's therapy team can help you return to your best lifestyle.
Genetic Counseling & Testing
Genetic testing is a medical test that identifies changes in chromosomes, genes or proteins. The results of a genetic test can confirm or rule out suspected genetic condition or help determine a person’s chance of developing or passing on a genetic disorder.
Pella Regional providers determine the need for genetic testing by going through a screening questionnaire as there are certain criteria that put patients more at risk. The testing involves a lab draw and a phone call with a genetic counselor and, if the lab test comes back positive, your provider will work with you to determine next steps.
Oncologists also work closely with oncology and infusion certified nurses to coordinate care. This may include chemotherapy, biologic and immunotherapy infusions, iron infusions, and hormone injections.
Pella Regional partners with Mission Cancer + Blood to provide medical oncology services in Pella.
