Financial Assistance

Pella Regional Health Center provides medically necessary health care to all patients, regardless of ability to pay. If a patient has a remaining balance after trying all other coverage options, they may be eligible for financial assistance.


Financial assistance will be considered for patients who are unable to pay for their health care based on financial need. If a patient does not have insurance and qualifies for financial assistance, they will not be billed more for services than the amount generally billed to those who have insurance.

Financial assistance for medically necessary services is available on a sliding scale of up to 100% of charges. A discount up to 100% may be offered to patients whose family income is equal to or less than 200% of federal poverty guidelines. Reduced monthly payment plans are available to patients with incomes that exceed 200% of federal poverty guidelines but prove hardship.

How to Apply

Upon registration, patients who don’t have coverage or their coverage is not likely to be enough get information on financial assistance or get financial counseling.

Patients requesting financial assistance are required to complete the Financial Assistance Application. If it is determined a patient is eligible for assistance, we notify them on how much assistance is available. If it is determined a patient is not eligible for assistance, we let them know that in writing and give a brief explanation of the reason.
