Pella Regional’s Foundation to Hold Pella in Pink Event October 2
PELLA, Iowa–Pella in Pink, presented by Pella Regional Health Center Foundation, will be in person this year after two years being held virtually due to COVID-19. The event will start at 2 pm on Sunday, October 2 at Cordova Park at Lake Red Rock with a remembrance ceremony, bounce houses for children, and a 1.2 mile trail hike. The goal of this event is to raise awareness of breast cancer and support our expanding breast care program at Pella Regional.
Pella Regional’s breast care program helps women access essential screening, diagnostic and treatment services close to home at Pella Regional Health Center. Past support for Pella in Pink has helped us offer digital mammography, breast ultrasound and bone density services in a comforting environment. Recently we began to offer surgical treatment and breast reconstruction under one anesthesia, through a partnership with our general surgeons and a specialist in plastic surgery. Our goal is to broaden the offerings locally to include advanced breast MRI, genetic testing options and coordinated care through the entire journey. Your participation can directly impact women in need of breast care service in our area.
“Pella in Pink has been a huge part in growing our breast care services at Pella Regional,” says Amy Meyer, Foundation Coordinator at Pella Regional. “We now have a Breast Care Navigator who walks beside our patients and makes sure they have all the information and resources they need to make the best decision for them.”
