Pella Regional’s Foundation Chosen to Receive Donation From maurices

PELLA, Iowa—maurices, a women’s apparel brand with 900+ stores across the U.S. and Canada announced it is donating $250,000 to multiple rural community hospitals to support healthcare workers on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of this donation, Pella Regional Health Center Foundation was chosen to receive a donation to its COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund.

“With maurices stores in more than 900 communities, we are proud to support our local healthcare workers who are on the frontlines treating patients in rural hospitals. These individuals are truly hometown healthcare heroes,” said George Goldfarb, maurices President & CEO.

maurices selected Pella Regional Health Center and other rural community hospitals in markets that are representative of the brand’s full chain.

“This escalating crisis has transformed the way we think and work. Like other organizations, we are looking for ways we can support our associates, our customers, and our communities”, said Goldfarb. “Often rural hospitals don’t get the support they need, and by providing them with a monetary donation they will be able to purchase what they need most in this fight against COVID-19. We have been in touch with many of the hospital administrators who have told us the timing for this donation is perfect.”

“We are very appreciative of this donation from maurices during this critical time in healthcare, said Deb Borton, Foundation Director at Pella Regional. “These funds will support the purchase of critical personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect our healthcare team, as well as other supplies needed to fight against COVID-19 locally.”

In addition, the Foundation is currently accepting donations of home sewn gowns and fabric masks. More information can be found at by clicking Ways to Help Pella Regional During Covid-19 in the red bar at the top of the page.  Supply donations, along with a completed donation form, may be dropped off at any Pella Regional Health Center entrance.
