Pella Regional Installs New 128-Slice CT Scanner
PELLA, Iowa— Medical Imaging at Pella Regional Health Center has recently installed a new CT system offering higher image quality with low radiation dose and a dual energy scan mode which helps to better portray tissue types.
“It’s important to us to keep our patients as safe as possible,” said Jeff Bender, director of Medical Imaging at Pella Regional Health Center. “While low levels of radiation are not dangerous, repeated exposure may cause problems. We continue explore ways to use the least amount of radiation possible in all of the testing we do at Pella Regional.”
Many patients have difficulty remaining still for long periods. This system allows for the shortest possible scanning time leading to the potential of minimizing the need for patients to hold their breath for quite as long during scans.
“Throughout our department we have the most up-to-date technology ensuring clearer images for quicker diagnosis with the smallest dose of radiation possible. This helps us provide the highest quality care for our patients,” said Bender.
