Lesa Maring, Wound Care Director at Pella Regional
PELLA, Iowa— Lesa Maring, BSN, MHA, has been appointed to the role of Director of Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine at Pella Regional Health Center. This position provides the leadership and direction for wound care.
Maring most recently worked at Boone County Hospital where she successfully opened and managed their wound care initiative. She also has extensive experience in nursing and medical sales. Maring received her Bachelors in Nursing at Clarkson College and her Masters of Healthcare Administration from Des Moines University.
Pella Regional is expanding the scope of treatment of wounds in April with the opening of Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine. This state-of-the-art treatment will include debridement, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, bio-engineered tissue substitutes and patient education.
One of the highlights of the expanded service is hyperbaric oxygen therapy which involves exposing the body to 100% oxygen at a pressure that is greater than normal. Wounds need oxygen to heal properly, and exposing a wound to 100% oxygen can, in some cases, speed the healing process.
“I’m really excited to assist in bringing these new services to residents of Pella and the surrounding area,” said Maring. “These treatments can help people dealing with pain and quality of life issues. We are going to be able to help so many people, many of whom have suffered for a long time.”
