Pella Regional Health Center recently participated in a community engagement project to develop a plan for community health improvement efforts for the next three years (2024–2027). This project included a community health needs assessment, secondary data analysis of health information and a town hall meeting. The project also includes a health implementation plan to help guide the Pella Regional and area organizations in health improvement efforts. The hospital board of trustees adopted this community health needs assessment on December 19, 2023.
Key findings from the assessment include:
- Provide depth and breadth of services for mental health needs.
- Concern for and presence of substance abuse related health and safety issues.
- Attract and retain healthcare workers.
- Address childcare services/access.
- Transportation services.
- Health and housing stability.
