Skilled/Swing Care

Skilled/Swing Care at Pella Regional is intended for patients who are too ill to return to their homes, but no longer require acute care received in the hospital. The patients may require rehabilitation, wound care, nursing observation or extended IV (intravenous) therapy after surgery and hospitalization.

Skilled/swing care provides patients with the opportunity to transition smoothly and safely from an acute hospital setting to skilled/swing care and finally to their homes or previous living environment.

Staff provides:

• 24 hour nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse. 
• Medications and treatments administered as prescribed by physician. 
• Individualized case management for all patients. 
• Rehabilitation services--physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, respiratory therapy, certified wound nurses, intravenous therapy. 
• Nutrition and pharmaceutical counseling. 
• Social services and spiritual services. 
• Laboratory, emergency and medical imaging is available within hospital.
