The Christian Benevolent Association (CBA), an organization dedicated to creating a Christian community and supportive living environment for senior residents, has been operating in Pella since 1907. The campus covers a square block close to downtown—restaurants, shopping, public library and churches. The grounds are well manicured with flower beds complete with mature trees and beautiful landscaping. The program provides a variety of apartment sizes and amenities for independent living. Current supportive services include meals, laundry, and organized activities for residents of Fair Haven. Pella Manor residents may order meals, as well as avail themselves to Beauty/Barber Shop and Foot Care services, both located at Fair Haven. No personal care, housekeeping or assistance with medication is provided. Residents needing assistance with activities of daily living may bring in community home health aides to provide these services. The Christian Benevolent Association is a division of Pella Regional Health Center (PRHC), and a part of SHARe, Pella Regional’s Senior Housing and Aging Resources Program. SHARe senior living facilities include: Pella Manor, Fair Haven East, Hilltop Manor, Long Term Care department at PRHC and Jefferson Place. For further information on SHARe facilities and services, call 641.628.8809. For further information call the CBA Office at 641.628.1244.

Long Term Care at
Pella Regional Health Center

For many seniors, there comes a time when they are no longer able to live independently - when they require some form and degree of assistance with their health care or activities of daily living.
When a senior's needs are greater, however - when care or assistance must be readily available at all times - at levels ranging from relatively light care, to very heavy care - and for impairments that may be physical, cognitive, or very frequently both - that is the role of a long-term care facility.

Pella Regional Health Center's (PRHC) Long Term Care (LTC) facility provides--
*Nursing and personal care on a 24-hour basis, including care given by or under the supervision of a registered nurse or registered practical nurse,
*Administration of medication
*Assistance with activities of daily living
*Laundry services
*Skilled Nursing
*Restorative Nursing
*Nutritional Consultation

Another important service dimension provided by LTC at PRHC encompasses appropriate social programs, recreational programs and physical activities. PRHC's LTC maintains an active resident council made up of resident representatives and staff members.

In addition to these core services, additional other services are available on an extra fee basis.
Examples of such additional services include pastoral care and religious services, hairdressing and barber services, telephone and cable television connections and newspaper delivery.

Our volunteers play a vitally important role in the quality of care that our residents receive. Facility volunteers are all those very generous people who donate their time and energy to LTC facilities, assisting staff and enriching the lives of residents in innumerable ways.
