Phase II Rehabilitations

The Program

Phase II begins one to two weeks following your discharge from the hospital and lasts approximately six weeks. We will meet with you two times a week for one to two hours each time. Exercise sessions are monitored to improve your exercise capacity and ability to resume your daily activities.

Time is spent exercising and learning how to live with heart disease. The emphasis of the educational sessions is on understanding heart disease and modifying risk factors to live a healthy life. Individual and group sessions are used to present up-to-date information.

Candidates

Those who have had:

  • A heart attack
  • Heart bypass surgery or valve replacement
  • Angioplasty and/or stent placement
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Heart transplant
  • Chest pain due to angina

Those interested must be referred to the program by a cardiologist or physician.

Goals

  • Develop long term commitment to exercise and a healthy lifestyle
  • Enhance strength and endurance to return to work and/or a physically active lifestyle
  • Increase confidence and become comfortable through monitored exercise
  • Educational sessions will aid you and your family in understanding and modifying personal risk factors

Cost

Most insurances cover the cost of this program. As always, please check with your insurance provider before your initial visit.

Fitness Plus

Exercise Classes

These are supervised group exercise classes aimed at improving your cardiovascular health, muscular strength and flexibility. Lifetime Fitness is available to those who have cardiovascular disease, wish to lower the risk of heart-related problems, or improve overall physical well-being.

Classes are individualized according to recent exercises tests and/or current physical health. Physician approval is necessary before beginning Lifetime Fitness

Class Schedule

Monday: 6:30 am, 8:00 am, 4 pm
Wednesday: 9 am
Thursday: 6:30 am, 8:00 am, 4 pm
Friday: 9 am

Membership Fee

The first two visits, which include a brief orientation to the facilities and equipment, are free to all new Lifetime Fitness participants. Then a punch card good for 12 visits can be purchased for a very affordable cost.

Resistance Class

Purpose

Our resistance training class emphasizes improving muscle strength and flexibility necessary for daily living. This is done while maintaining medical conditions, such as arthritis and osteoporosis. Resistance training strengthens bones and muscles.

Resistance class is offered on Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m. Those interested should receive approval by their physician before beginning this program.

Open Gym

Coming to open gym is similiar to joining a fitness club. During your open gym hours you may exercise as long as you like on whatever equipment you prefer. Helpful staff will be available to assist you in answering any questions you may have. Before beginning the program you much receive a physician's approval.

Friday: 7-9 am, 11 am-5:30 pm

Pilates

Pilates 101 is a system of low-impact exercises that combines stretching and strengthening to increase muscle tone, improve posture and flexibility, and promote a sense of balance. Small classes allow for individualized attention and can be adapted for all levels of flexibility and form.

Hours

Choose the class time that is right for you!

Tuesdays 6:00-7:00 pm
Wednesdays 5:30-6:30 pm or 6:30-7:30
Thursdays 12:00-12:40 pm
Fridays 6:00-7:00 am.

Membership fee

Rehab Gym Fee: $32 for 8 week session
