The Cardiac Services Department exists to help prevent, detect and treat heart disease through screening, rehabilitation, and education.
Our healthcare professionals will provide you with exercise and educational classes to guide you to a healthier life.
Education Programs and Classes
Heart Healthy Classes
These classes are available to anyone interested in a heart healthy lifestyle. They are open to the public at no charge. Classes are taught by health professionals on a variety of topics that range from a basic overview of the heart to nutrition. Classes are held every Monday and Thursday at 10:15 a.m. in the Rehab Center.

Cardiac Testing
Cardiac Rehab provides the following cardiac testing:
Stress Test
You will either walk or be given medication
through an IV to evaluate your hearts response to exercise.
Cardiolite Stress Test
This test provides X ray images of your heart before and after receiving medication through an IV or walking on the treadmill.
Stress Echo
You will receive an ultrasound of your heart before and after walking on the treadmill or receiving medication through an IV.
Holter Monitor
It will record each heartbeat for 24 hours while you go about your daily routine.
Event Monitoring
You activate a monitor whenever symptoms occur. Then you send your ECG tracing over the phone to the Emergency Room.
Meet our Staff

Sherrilyn, RN, BSN
Sherrilyn has been at Pella Regional Health Center since 1978 working in various patient care settings. She has been with the Cardiac Services programs since 1993. Sherrilyn is excited in seeing patient progress following hospitalization for heart related events.
Linda, RN
Linda has worked with people who have heart disease since her graduation from Iowa Methodist School of Nursing in 1982. She has experience in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care, and Medical/Surgical areas of Pella Regional Health Center. Linda began working in Cardiac Services in 1996.
