Heart Healthy Classes

All classes are scheduled for 10:15 am in the Rehab Center Classroom on the date specified. Information: Cardiac Services, 641.628.6653

Exercise Guidelines―Monday, March 3

Reviews healthy exercise principles, exercise do’s and don’ts, and
appropriate exercise levels for each participant.

Supermarket Tour―Thursday, March 6

Tour a supermarket via video. Highlights healthy products available
and shopping tips.

Stress/Recreation & Leisure―Monday, March 10

A look at what role stress plays in heart disease. Come learn the
importance of controlling stress for a healthier heart. Also,
recreation is healthy for your heart!

Weight Loss―Thursday, March 13

Discusses practical lifestyle changes that may help you limit your
calorie intake and lose weight.

Risk Factors―Monday, March 17

A look at risk factors that predispose us to heart disease. Personal
risk factors will be outlined along with tips for modifying those risk
factors.

Heart Healthy Eating―Thursday, March 20

Healthy cooking techniques and ingredients. Serving size and the
food guide pyramid are emphasized. Also looks at how to eat out
and still follow a healthy diet.
