Visiting Guideline Restrictions Lifted at Pella Regional
Date: January 19, 2010
PELLA, Iowa—Effective today, January 19, Pella Regional Health Center is pleased to be lifting the visitor restrictions which were put in place due to H1N1 influenza. While H1N1 influenza has not totally disappeared, it has dramatically decreased.
Pella Regional Health Center continues to ask that any visitors postpone their visit if they are feeling sick in any way. If family/friends/visitors have any of the following symptoms, they should not visit:
- Fever—low (99°F) to high (104°F) within the last 24 hours
- Aching muscles
- Cough
- Headache
- Joint aches
- Eye pain
- Feeling very tired
- Sore throat, runny or stuffy nose
- Feeling very cold or having shaking chills
Seasonal flu, as well as H1N1, is still a health concern. Please practice frequent hand washing, cover your cough or sneeze and stay home when you or your child are sick. At each entrance to the hospital, respiratory hygiene stations have been installed by infection control to make hand sanitizer available to everyone who walks in the door. Visitors should wash their hands before and after visiting a patient, and should cover their cough or sneeze.
If you are receiving care in the clinics or the emergency department and have symptoms of fever and cough, please put on a mask and use hand sanitizer upon entering the facility.
In the event either seasonal or H1N1 influenza rates increase, Pella Regional will consider reinstating the previous visiting restrictions. Thank you for your patience and understanding during the past few weeks.
