WesleyLife Ownership Begins January 1, 2010
Date: December 28, 2009
PELLA, Iowa—As of January 1, 2010, WesleyLife assumes ownership and management of Jefferson Place, Pella Manor and Fair Haven East from Pella Regional Health Center.
“Pella Regional entered this agreement to provide the seniors of our community with a broader range of programs and services with a holistic approach—one that considers the spiritual, physical and emotional aspects of care. We also wanted to provide the vision for improvements for senior care in Pella,” said Bob Kroese, Chief Executive Officer of Pella Regional Health Center. “While we do consider ourselves experts in providing healthcare, we realized we needed to rely on experts in senior care to provide those programs and that vision. After a national search, we found that expert right here in Iowa—WesleyLife.”
Pella Regional Health Center and WesleyLife have been working diligently for the past months to ensure a smooth transition for both the employees and residents of Jefferson Place, Pella Manor and Fair Haven East. While a smooth transition is the immediate goal, Wesley has a strong vision for the future of services at the three communities.
“WesleyLife is listening to the needs of the residents and greater community and is developing plans to build upon the current offerings by bringing a greater focus on hospitality and wellness, in mind, body and spirit,” said Rob Kretzinger, Chief Executive Officer of WesleyLife. “We’ve been successful in our other Iowa communities because we leverage our collective experience and vision to reinvest to meet the needs of each generation. As a result, we are very dedicated to every community in which we operate.”
Also starting January 1, 2010, the private duty nursing services, called Helping Hands and Hearts, provided by Home Health Care at Pella Regional will be provided by WesleyLife Home Care. Pella Regional will continue to provide all skilled home care nursing services—those paid by Medicare or other insurers—after January 1.
WesleyLife will work in conjunction with Pella Regional to continue to offer a full continuum of care to older adults in the greater Pella community.
