After attending Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dr. Kanis received his DO from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency through the University of Iowa, Des Moines, with privileges at Iowa Methodist, Central Iowa VA, and Broadlawns Medical Center.
