Walk for Your Health on Thursday Night
PELLA, Iowa – The kick-off event for June's Thursday Night in Pella will be a community "Walk for Your Health" sponsored by Pella Regional Health Center's Cardiac Services program. At 6 pm on June 14, 21 and 28, Cardiac Services nurses will lead a short community walk from the southwest corner of the Tulip Toren through West Market Park and back.
Seventeen walkers participated in the first Thursday night event, and the nurses hope to see that number grow every week.
"It was fun!" said Carol Wheelden, one of the walkers on Thursday, June 7. "It was not too hot. A friend talked me into it, plus my dad had heart disease so I know it's important to exercise."
There is no advance signup. Simply come to the southwest corner of the square near the Tulip Toren and sign up the night of the walk. Sign up will be available beginning at 5:30 pm. Wear your walking shoes, bring water, and enjoy a short walk with Pella Regional's cardiac nurses.
