Pella Regional to Open Full Service Pharmacy in Early Summer

PELLA, Iowa – Pella Regional Health Center will be opening a full service pharmacy in early summer on Monroe Street near Pella Medical Clinic. The pharmacy aims to improve the quality of care of Pella Regional’s patients while reducing the costs of their medications, all with the added convenience of having a pharmacy less than a block from their physician’s office.

“We’re able to pass on savings for medications to our patients because of our involvement in a program called 340b in which Pella Regional as a critical access hospital is allowed preferred contract pricing,” said Tony Linkmeyer, Chief of Ancillary Services at Pella Regional.

Pella Regional’s pharmacy will also be able to help patients save on their health care costs by reducing their admissions and Emergency visits due to compliance with medication through continuity of care from physician to pharmacy.

“Finding new ways to serve our patients and their families is a high priority for us. This full-service pharmacy is an opportunity for Pella Regional to provide more services and convenience to our patients,” said Bob Kroese, Chief Executive Officer at Pella Regional. “While we are still awaiting certain approvals from the city, we anticipate that our pharmacy will open early next summer.”
