Megan Northcote - July Shining Star for Pella Regional

Megan Northcote

PELLA, Iowa— Megan Northcote, Surgery, was selected as July Shining Star by co-workers at Pella Regional Health Center.

Northcote, resident of Knoxville, was nominated based on Attitude, Appearance, Commitment, and Sense of Ownership.

Excerpts from her nomination:

“Megan is an exemplary employee representing the finest Pella Regional has to offer. This was best demonstrated at night when one of our physicians called for a STAT C-section. Megan was not on call that night, but came into the hospital to begin preparations for the C-section and allowed us to begin the case while other staff arrived. She then very efficiently transferred the case to the other nurse who relieved her of her surgical duties. I was very impressed by her professionalism and her taking ownership of a case. She is clearly a team player and went above and beyond what would normally be required. It is these qualities in an employee which make Pella Regional shine and ultimately provided quality and safe care for a patient.”

Shining Star is a reward and recognition program at Pella Regional designed to acknowledge an employee each month that demonstrates outstanding standards of behavior and inspires others to do their best.

Northcote will receive a $100 gift, a plaque, and will automatically be included in the Shining Star of the Year award.
