Christina Sailors - February Shining Star for Pella Regional

Christina SailorsPELLA, Iowa—Christina Sailors, Medical/Surgical Unit, was selected as February Shining Star by co-workers at Pella Regional Health Center.

Sailors, resident of Knoxville, was nominated based on Attitude, Appearance, Commitment, and Sense of Ownership.

Excerpts from his nomination:
“Christina is a true example of showing commitment to Pella Regional Health Center with a caring heart. For the past six years there has been a community event for breast cancer awareness called “Pella in Pink.” For the past three years, Pella Regional’s Foundation has been the driving force behind coordinating this event and its volunteers. An event of this magnitude cannot happen without committed volunteers. This year Christina wanted to show her support of breast cancer awareness and be one of those valued volunteers. Even though she was scheduled for 3rd shift the night prior to the event, Christina showed up at West Market Park after her shift ready to the support the event in any way possible. Because of Christina’s dedication to her team and Pella Regional Health Center we were able to successfully raise $16,750.”

Shining Star is a reward and recognition program at Pella Regional designed to acknowledge an employee each month that demonstrates outstanding standards of behavior and inspires others to do their best.

Sailors will receive a $100 gift, a plaque, and will automatically be included in the Shining Star of the Year award.
