Beth Van Maanen, 2013 Shining Star of Year at Pella Regional

Beth Van Maanen, Shining Star of 2013PELLA, Iowa— Beth Van Maanen, Hospice, was recently selected by co-workers as the 2013 Shining Star of the Year at Pella Regional Health Center.

Van Maanen, resident of Pella, was Shining Star of the Month in November. Shining Star is a reward and recognition program at Pella Regional designed to acknowledge an employee each month that demonstrates outstanding standards of behavior and inspires others to do their best. At the end of the year one of the Shining Star of the Month recipients is then chosen by Pella Regional employees as Shining Star of the Year.

An excerpt from her nomination form said:

“Pella Regional is very lucky to have a great asset such as Beth. She has such kind words for our home hospice patients and makes them feel as if they are the only ones she is caring for at the time. Sometimes it means that she has to rearrange her schedule or have lunch on the "run." She truly cares about what the community thinks about Pella Regional and will do whatever needs to be done to make Pella Regional "shine." Beth is a pleasure to work with and I am so very lucky to have the opportunity to work with her.”

Van Maanen receives an Employee of the Year plaque and a $250 gift.
